The Founders Room is VIP hospitality space for Blumenthal Performing Arts’ patrons, located on the first floor of Bank of America’s Corporate Headquarters in Charlotte, NC. Designed by DesignBar and built by Claris Design • Build, the project converted a former retail space into a sophisticated, multi-functional venue featuring Art Deco accents that balance functionality, security, and elevated finish quality.
Construction presented two primary challenges. First, operating within a secure, fully active high-rise required all subcontractors and deliveries to have pre-approved access forms submitted in advance to both JLL building management and Bank of America security — demanding meticulous scheduling and planning. Second, all MEP work by Mainline Plumbing, Miller Electric Company, and Patterson Mechanical required review and approval by JLL’s engineering team, necessitating early collaboration and precise documentation to maintain compliance and avoid delays.
